One day, the entire series was showing at a theater near us. My sister was a fan, not old enough to go alone, and my dad was busy. Guess who got to sit through ALL OF TWILIGHT without a break. Unfortunately, it's not "one the worst ever" and that would be better for it, because, as it is now, this is just a bad, very bad piece of second rate cinema.
Premise is simple, young teenage girl and her need for sex wrapped in a preposterous story. Her love interest is a really old vampire that could be her great grandfather, and yet, neither of them (nor do viewers, apparently) have any problems with that. Message is: it is not important how old you are, looks are what counts.
Director of this movie is not a very good one. She tries her best, but all the washed up colors and odd camera angles can not hide the fact that a hundred years old person is starting a love relationship with a girl who lives with a stereotypical "awkward" dad and is, for some reason, adored by the cool children even though she's a mumbling "outcast.
It seems pointless even to talk about this movie, it doesn't have at least a minimum of entertainment value. The girl is played badly by an actress that was gorgeous in Into the wild, whole high school setting is as exciting as actual high school and in the process, this garbage manages to produce some terrible and unnecessary "additions" to vampire lore, like the whole sparkling thing.
It baffles me beyond belief that a hundred year old person would go year after year to a freakin' high school along with his hundreds of years old family. That alone does not help him be more cool. It helps him look like a moron. Although, he is chasing young teenagers, after all.
This film is thinly veiled metaphor for sex, or abstinence, and a very bad one at that. And that is it's biggest fault. This is a bad movie.
